Biography:
Hello! My name is Alyson, and I am a sophomore studying Linguistics with a minor in Korean. Along with interests in language and linguistics, I have a passion for music. I am currently involved in the K-Pop Music and Dance Club as the club’s secretary. I am also a member of Phi Sigma Pi, a gender-inclusive fraternity on campus. Through scholarship, leadership, and fellowship, I have found a community where I can grow to be the best person I can be.
Project Summary
For my PIRE Project, I will be examining how native listeners of Spanish process different types of morphosyntactic errors in L2 Spanish accented speech and compare to L1 Spanish speech. In addition, I will be investigating whether native listeners of Spanish are sensitive to error typicality. This study will be conducted in Summer 2023 at the Universidad Autónoma de México, and I will be working in collaboration with PIRE partner Dr. Natalia Arias, Dr. Giuli Dussias, and my fellow PIRE member, Kaitlyn Plummer.
