Biography:

My name is Amanda Gryskevicz, and I'm a junior at Penn State majoring in Psychology with a minor in Deafness and Hearing Studies. I'm involved in many campus organizations including Penn State Outing Club and Gender and Sexual Diversity in Schreyer. Outside of academics, I am passionate about sustainability, the outdoors, great food, and helping others express themselves.

Project Summary:

Under the supervision of Navin Viswanathan and Janet Van Hell, my research partner Amira and I are studying speech perception. Our project is centered on how the interaction between familiar voices and background noise impacts recognition and memory in English monolinguals and Dutch-English bilinguals. This summer we will be traveling to Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands to continue our work with Dr. Susanne Brouwer.
