Biography:

I am a Ph.D. student in Spanish and Language Science working with Prof. Giuli Dussias at Penn State University. My research agenda involves the integration of linguistic and neuroscientific approaches to examine how bilingual experience modulates language processing

Project Summary:

In this study, I test the hypothesis that bilinguals learn codeswitching regularities via exposure. To do this, I will conduct the study at the University of Granada, Spain where I will be able to test Spanish-English bilinguals with little-to-no codeswitching experience. Exposure to codeswitching patterns is expected to incur a difference in processing costs, and the results will contribute to the question of how much input might be necessary to observe adaptive changes as a function of language experience in the study of language processes.
