Biography:

Biography: I'm a rising senior majoring in Linguistics and Science, with minors in Italian and International Studies. I've worked in Janet van Hell's lab for three semesters now, focusing primarily on ERP projects to prepare me for this PIRE grant. I will be traveling to Bangor University in Wales to do a color perception ERP study with Greek-English Bilinguals. Working in Guillaume Thierry's lab at Bangor will provide great data and incredible experience. I will also be running this experiment with Russian-English Bilinguals in State College when I return. (The Russian-English community at Penn State has not yet been recruited in the CLS!)  While abroad, I will also be attending Bangor University's Summer School in Cognitive Linguistics. This is a wonderful opportunity to present my new data, take a few classes from different experts in the field, and meet a lot of motivated researchers.  Outside of the lab I am extremely involved in THON having served as the Executive chair for Springfield, one of THON's oldest and biggest special interest groups. I spend my free time working on improving my Italian, as well as exploring some other languages (Turkish, Russian and French).  I cannot wait to arrive and begin meeting new people and gathering great data! Institution: Pennsylvania State University, USA Lab/Group: Center for Language Science
