Biography:

Hi! I'm Cameron, a second-year Schreyer Scholar. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, listening to music, and volunteering. I currently volunteer with CentreHelps, the Red Cross, Fresh START, and CentreCounty Paws. I also enjoy speaking Spanish, and plan on minoring in it at Penn State!

My PIRE project consists of utilizing electroencephalograms (EEGs) to uncover how language and concreteness affect semantic organization in the bilingual brain, which could have implications in both language acquisition and stroke recovery processes. I am conducting this research on thirty participants who speak English natively (L1) and Mandarin as their second language (L2) at Penn State this spring, and thirty individuals with the opposite language skills in Beijing over the course of two months this summer.
