Biography:

I am a 2nd year graduate student at Penn State pursuing a dual tittle PhD in Cognitive Psychology and Language Sciences. My research focuses on the neural correlates of code-switching processing in Spanish-English bilinguals. For my Master's thesis I am studying the effects of accented speech on code-switching processing. This summer I will work with Dr. Marianne Gullberg at Lund University in Sweden, where I will learn to conduct gestural research through her Embodied Bilingualism project. Specifically, I will study how gestures contribute to language processing in both monolinguals and bilinguals using Event Related Potentials (ERP).
