I am currently a 4th year graduate student working with Dr. Rena Torres Cacoullos in the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. I am interested in bilingual phonology, language contact, and language change and variation. Most recently, I have been using naturalistic data gathered in a bilingual New Mexican community to examine how code-switching and long-term contact can influence the phonetic implementation of cross-linguistically similar phonemes in Spanish and English.
