Biography:

I am a third year Ph.D. student in Psychology working with Dr. Janet van Hell at Penn State University. My research involves the use of behavioral and neuropsychological (EEG) techniques to examine the consolidation process of novel word learning.

Project Summary:

In this study, I will investigate the degree of overnight consolidation in bilinguals learning L2 novel words with novel meaning. In May and June of 2020, I will conduct the study at Jagiellonian University, Poland with Dr. Zofia Wodniecka where I will be able to test Polish-English bilinguals with proficient L2 English. The results will further our understanding of L2 students’ learning novel words in their second language of concepts unique to their L2.
