Jane is a junior majoring in English and Linguistics with minors in German and World Literature. She's passionate about the art of language but is also interested in the science behind it. She's intrigued by how people process two languages at the same time and how one language influences another. She hopes to work as an interpreter and translator after graduation, and eventually focus on translation studies.
Project Summary:
I am currently working with Dr. Giuli Dussias and will be conducting my study in Germany. I am interested in how L2 English speakers of German predict upcoming information based on the English indefinite article determiner a/an. We want to find out what variables influence their prediction and whether they are universal.
