Biography:

Jihee is a third-year Schreyer student majoring in Psychology. She is also pursuing two minors: Rehabilitation and Human Services and Korean. As a part of her academic goals, she hopes to pursue a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology. Outside of academics, she also hopes to learn new languages and interact with multiple populations. She is involved in the Language Growth Club. During her free time, she likes to play the piano and walk her dog.

Project Summary

Under the supervision of Navin Viswanathan and Annie Olmstead, Jihee and her research partner, Merel, will focus on speech perception among Dutch-English bilinguals and English monolinguals. They will observe English and Dutch vowel distinctions in a natural-like setting to study how speakers and listeners adapt during an interaction. For this project, they will travel to Radboud University in Nijmegen to conduct their research.
