Biography:

I’m a second year undergraduate student majoring in Science and Spanish. I plan to apply to medical school in the next few years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time working in Dr. Dussias’s lab so far. Outside of my studies and research, I am passionate about the outdoors and am the president of the Penn State Outing Club.

Project Summary

My partner, Kelsey Shekore, and I will be investigating native Spanish speakers’ understanding of the grammatical rules of dual-gendered nouns. Using pupillometry, we will see how these Spanish speakers respond to grammatically correct and incorrect phrases with dual-gendered nouns. Our results will hopefully be able to help future studies in finding ways to improve L2 teaching.
