Biography:

My research interests center around finding ways of optimizing language therapy for adult language disorders. In this pursuit, I employ psycholinguistic, neuropsychological, and neuroimaging techniques and combine information in the areas of rehabilitation, neuroplasticity, aging, semantics, and bilingualism. Current projects include: exploring abstract and concrete word processing in aphasia, aging, and bilingualism using EEG and fMRI; exploring the effect of training abstract words on generative naming in both bilingual aphasia and second language learning; developing an online therapy tool for bilingual persons with aphasia; identifying the effect of lesion on intrinsic and task-based cortical networks; and exploring treatment-induced changes in cortical organization in persons with aphasia.
